CARMEUSE Team and 450 GOOD DEEDS
“Plantam fapte bune in Romania” (We plant good deeds in Romania) is the name of the program initiated by a non-profit organization, EcoAssist Association. The objective of this spring project was to prevent landslides on a hill area in Arges county. Over 6.000 trees were bought for this action. Carmeuse enthusiastically responded to their call, especially that this action took place in the community belonging to our Campulung Plant.
The general object of the Life in Quarries project is to develop and make sustainable the hosting capacity of biodiversity in in various quarries in Wallonia. The originality of this project is based on the implementation of biodiversity management measures during the extractive phase and not only as part of rehabilitation at the end of works.
CO2 Value Europe: A new association dedicated to the utilisation of CO2.
43 leading industrial and research stakeholders will cooperate to implement solutions to convert CO2 into valuable products.
On October 25th, Carmeuse presented a paper at ICG (International Commission in Glass) in Istanbul, organized by Sisecam glass company.
This conference is gathering glass specialists from all over the world together with some of our main glass customers.
The paper presents the results of a study made in collaboration with Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro (Murano Glass research Institute) about the use of quicklime and dolime in fiberglass production in replacement of limestone and dolomite.
It is demonstrating that this change is achieving a very good stability of the glass produced while allowing to save up to 40% energy and 350 kg CO2 emission/ton of glass.
Carmeuse has developed a full range of products and solutions for the fiberglass market.
Production manager of Slovak quarries awarded by the badge of honor
Jozef Ruska, the Quarries Production Manager in Carmeuse Slovakia, has been awarded on September the 8th 2017 by the Badge of honor for professional loyalty granted by the Slovak Ministry of Economy, for his more than 20 years lasting work in the mining sphere.
Only few representatives of the so called “black crafts” are – based on proposal of the Slovak association of blasting and drilling - awarded each year during the traditional celebration ceremony of the Day of miners, geologist, metallurgists and oilmen organized in Banská Štiavnica – small town with massive mining history. Those are the ones, who with their conscientious work and specific expertise contributed the most to the positive results, success and goodwill of their organizations.
Jozef has been employed by Carmeuse for nearly 20 years and despite his straightforward, often firmly perceived manners, he with his dealings day by day demonstrates his engagement, passion and love towards his work, our company and this very specific stone cold industry.
THANK YOU for that Jozef and CONGRATULATION, we are very proud of you.
Bless the God!
